What is DIAMUN Junior?
Welcome to Junior DIAMUN 2024. My name is Anoushka Rose, and I served as the Secretary General for DIAMUN 2024. The first of its kind, Junior DIAMUN opens MUN to the impassioned youth and encourages primary school students to engage in the world of debate, subsequently bolstering their abilities in speaking, research, writing, critical thinking, and collaboration. With 6 committees and highly relevant topics across each, the conference urges students to develop international mindedness and get involved in the ongoings of our world.
Junior DIAMUN is a step forward in the right direction, as it offers a platform to the youth- the true change-makers of our society. As part of the organizing team, we are immensely proud to see the level of excitement and innovation in the students. I have no doubt that they will be able to elevate DIAMUN to new levels this year and in all future conferences. I’m eager to see how impressive our delegates will be and can’t wait to welcome everyone to Junior DIAMUN 2024 soon.

What’s in our future?
Global Leadership Development
Model United Nations (MUN) cultivates future leaders who are well-versed in diplomacy, negotiation, and international affairs. As participants engage in debates, collaborate on resolutions, and navigate complex geopolitical issues, they develop essential leadership skills such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. These skills are invaluable in various professional fields, including politics, diplomacy, law, business, and academia. By fostering the development of competent and ethical leaders, MUN contributes to shaping a more responsible and effective global leadership landscape in the future.
Cross-cultural Understanding & Empathy
MUN brings together participants from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, fostering cross-cultural understanding and empathy. Through dialogue, collaboration, and negotiation, delegates learn to appreciate different viewpoints, respect cultural differences, and find common ground on global issues. This experience not only enhances intercultural communication skills but also promotes tolerance, empathy, and mutual respect among future generations. As MUN alumni enter various professions and engage in global interactions, their enhanced cultural competence contributes to building bridges across divides and promoting a more harmonious and inclusive world.
Global Advocacy & Social Impact
MUN empowers participants to become advocates for positive change and agents of social impact in their communities and beyond. By engaging with real-world issues such as climate change, human rights, and global health, delegates develop a deeper understanding of social, environmental, and economic challenges facing the world. Inspired by their MUN experiences, many participants continue their advocacy efforts beyond the conference, initiating projects, campaigns, and initiatives to address pressing global issues. Whether through grassroots activism, policymaking, or philanthropy, MUN alumni leverage their skills and networks to effect meaningful change and contribute to building a more just, sustainable, and equitable world for future generations.
